The South Dakota Rock and Roll Music Association Hall of Fame is proud to announce its 2017 inductees. Eight bands, three ballrooms, and a half dozen South Dakota Rock and Roll supporters will become members of the association. Additionally, the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Nick Schwebach of Dell Rapids and Wakonda.
A news conference was held to announce the inductees at the SDRRMA Museum in the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29. Induction events will be held April 21-22, 2017 at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall in Sioux Falls.
The SDRRMA was established in 2008 to promote and recognize musicians, venues, studios, disc jockeys, and other music supporters across the state. Since 2014, the SDRRMA has awarded grants to school music programs for the purchase of instruments and training programs. It is the goal of the SDRRMA to assist out state's music educators in achieving musical excellence.
