SDRRMA President John Mogen represented the Board of Directors at the visitation honoring Bobby Vee at St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. Bobby was inducted with the first group of rock and rollers in 2009. He loved South Dakota, and South Dakota loved him. Mogen advised Bobby's children, Jeff, Tommy, Robby, and Jennifer of our desire to induct Bobby as a Spirit of the Music honoree in April of 2016. The board's decision was unanimous. The Vellines seemed genuinely honored. Pictured is Bobby's favorite guitar--his Gretsch. It stood proudly next to the coffin.
