Inductee

Burch was born in Spearfish, South Dakota and later moved to Eastern Montana. He formed the four piece Walkers in 1961. The name came from a Duane Eddy instrumental. One of their first gigs was at the Spearfish Pavilion, also in the SD HOF. The band traveled extensively, playing in a seven state area. They eventually expanded their territory, including an Asia tour in 1970.

The band recorded three 45's, the last produced by two of the Crickets and Buddy Knox. In the mid 60's Burch moved to Sioux City, where he was booked by the legendary Dick Matousek. He and his wife Linda reside in Reno, NV where they are still involved in music along with their son Ray.
