Four of the more prominent and popular night clubs in Sioux Falls included the Club Cabana, located on North Phillips, Shorty's Club on East 8th St, the Stardust Club on old Highway 16 near where the new Washington HS is located, and the 7 Oaks on West 12th St. All of these clubs were entertaining patrons in the 50's and 60's, usually with live music and dancing.

This was an era when Sioux Falls had a population of about 1/3 of the number of residents living here today. Some people claim it was a time when laws weren't as strictly enforced as they are today and it was easier to gain entrance to a club if you were underage.
