With a population of less than one thousand, Tyndall wasn't one of the state's larger cities but when there was a dance at Groveland Park it seemed like everybody in Southeastern S.D. was there. All the touring groups as well as national acts performed at the dance hall and usually there was a full house. Even though competing venues at Milltown, Lake Andes, and Mitchell were very popular, Groveland Park never took a backseat to any of them.
