In 1960 four Pharmacy students at SDSU formed a band in Brookings. Initially they played in and around Brookings but within a year or two venues included Sioux Falls as well as ballrooms and dance halls all over the upper Midwest. Members Bruce Laughrey, Dave Powell, Roger Zobel, and Don Robar Spawn had great chemistry and developed a great sound. They were booked by the highly respected Jimmy Thomas and worked with artists that included The Four Seasons, Jimmy Soul, and Dicky Lee. Two of the members graduated in 1963 and the band officially broke up in 1965.
