Angie grew up in southwest Minnesota on a farm smack dab between Luverne MN and Rock Rapids, IA. She spent her summers in the backyard listening to Sioux Falls radio and being influenced enough that when given the choice between a career of a nurse or radio announcer…radio announcer won out. Probably better in the long run for everyone.

Knowing early on that a career in radio was going to be pursued she applied at the Luverne radio station only to be turned down because she “wasn’t very good”. Band and cheerleading in high school gave her the ability to be a bit of an extrovert. In her senior year in high school the speech coach finally talked her into going out for the speech team, saying, “if you’re going to be a radio, announcer you need to learn to talk in front of people”. She won districts that year.

Following high school, it was on to Austin, MN for a two-year radio/TV program with a second year focus of radio. That also included an internship at KWOA in Worthington, Minnesota the summer of 1988. After graduating in 1989, her first radio opportunity was in Brookings South Dakota to work at Rock 94, basically known then as the college radio station. They eventually became B 93(after the transition of Sioux Falls’s 93 KKRC to 1037).

With the event of that stations re-transformation She moved back to Luverne in the spring of 1991 and started working part-time at 1037 The KRRO in 1992. In the fall of 1994 she was part of the inaugural team of Mix 97-3, starting with overnights 2 to 6 AM, then midnight to 6 AM and eventually 7pm-midnight.

She moved over to sister station B102.7, the classic rock station 9-2pm. Her rock soul found a home there until 2008.

In the fall of 2008 she moved across town to work a variety of stations. Q 95-7, Kelo-fm and finding her way back to rocking on 1037 The KRRO again from 2013 until 2023.

In the fall of 2023, she received an opportunity to return to Results/Town Square to do middays on Hot 104.7 and eventually full circle back to afternoons on B1027, where she is currently, along with middays on 97-3 KKRC.

Her 35 year career in Sioux Falls has been rewarding working with concert promoters, emceeing events and concerts, and supporting the Children’s Miracle Network. She thanks her family, friends, listeners, and the board of the rock hall for giving her this recognition, honor, and amazing opportunity to be a part of South Dakota history.
